Overview Of Pindari Glacier Trek Package
The Pindari Glacier Trek is a scenic adventure in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, taking you to an altitude of 3,660 meters over a 90 km round trip. The trek starts from Loharkhet and passes through quaint villages, dense forests, and pristine valleys, culminating at the stunning Pindari Glacier Zero Point. Best visited during April-June and September-November, the trek offers moderate difficulty, making it ideal for beginners. With breathtaking views of peaks like Nanda Devi and rich cultural experiences along the route, it’s a perfect introduction to Himalayan trekking.
Itinerary of Pindari Glacier Trek Package
Day 1 :
Arrival in Haldwani & Drive To Bageshwar
- Pick-up: We begin our journey early from Haldwani, picking up our guests and heading towards Loharkhet, the base camp for the Pindari Glacier trek.
- Drive Distance: Approx. 190 km
- Drive Time: 6-7 hours
- Passing through the scenic hill stations of Almora and Bageshwar, we make several stops for meals and photography. Upon reaching Loharkhet, we settle in at our campsite or guest house, and enjoy a peaceful evening.
Day 2 :
Trek from Loharkhet to Dhakuri
- Trek Distance: 11 km
- Trek Duration: 6-7 hours
- The trek starts with a moderate climb through lush forests and picturesque landscapes, offering a glimpse of the beauty ahead. Our destination for the day is Dhakuri, a small settlement offering panoramic views of snow-clad peaks. We set up camp here for the night.
Day 3 :
Trek from Dhakuri to Khati
- Trek Distance: 8 km
- Trek Duration: 4-5 hours
- After breakfast, we embark on a gradual descent towards the village of Khati, which is the last inhabited village on this trail. Khati is nestled in a serene valley, surrounded by rich flora and fauna. We spend the night here, experiencing the simple life of the locals.
Day 4 :
Trek from Khati to Dwali
- Trek Distance: 11 km
- Trek Duration: 6-7 hours
- The trek becomes more adventurous as we make our way to Dwali, following the riverbed of the Pindar River. The terrain gradually becomes more rugged, with stunning views of waterfalls and distant snow-capped peaks. We set up camp at Dwali and rest for the night.
Day 5 :
Trek from Dwali to Pindari Glacier and back to Phurkia
- Trek Distance: 12 km (to Pindari Glacier and back to Phurkia)
- Trek Duration: 7-8 hours
- This is the highlight of the trek. We trek to the zero point of the majestic Pindari Glacier, standing at an altitude of 3,660 meters. The glacier is a sight to behold, surrounded by towering peaks. After enjoying some time at the glacier, we head back to Phurkia, where we set up camp for the night.
Day 06 :
Trek from Phurkia to Dhakuri
- Trek Distance: 16 km
- Trek Duration: 7-8 hours
- We begin our descent, retracing our steps back to Dhakuri through the same beautiful trails we climbed earlier. With the mountains bidding us farewell, we spend another night at Dhakuri.
Day 07 :
Trek from Dhakuri to Loharkhet and Drive to Haldwani
- Trek Distance: 11 km (trek), 190 km (drive)
- Trek Duration: 4-5 hours (trek), 6 hours (drive)
- After breakfast, we trek back to Loharkhet, completing the trekking part of our adventure. From here, we start our return drive to Haldwani, stopping for meals along the way. Upon reaching Dehradun, the trek concludes.
